This weekend I was camping with the Order of the Arrow (a national honors society for Scouts BSA) and it was AMAZING. I wouldn't have created my awesome profile picture if it weren't for that. The people there are a lot mroe tolerable and everything and it makes me feel more happy being around people that are into the same stuff as I am

I used to be part of the Scouts, here in Sydney, when I was young. Unfortunately, I don't have any solid memories of that time, which is a shame.

My biggest problem with the Boy Scouts is that it...really doesn't exist anymore, as it's since become open to girls as well as boys. I really hate this, as it robs young boys of a venue where they could hang out with only other boys and have fun adventuring together - primary school is almost always coed.

Not "Boy Scouts" - just "Scouts". Just like with most other boy-only activities and venues, it's been forcibly neutralised because of SeXiSm; Girl Guides, or even separate Girl Scouts, aren't enough to satisfy misandrists. And what a major loss that is; it's healthy for boys to spend time away from girls, every now and then.

Sadly the USA association drift away from the original values of the big chief B-P the USA people made it the movement a joke, on the rest of the world scouting is an honor is the measure of excellence, even on times of difficulty we are the first on line.
