Hardware New 2DS XL turns on for a second then turns off with a speaker “pop"

Got a New 2DS here that I bought off of ebay. Not sure of the history of the device but I assume it was a family owned console with no previous repair attempts.

All of the ribbon cables look fine. The battery is charged at 4.16v so a dead battery shouldn’t be the issue.

The only areas that looked troublesome were the:

1. charging port with obvious internal damage
2. a coil right next to the charging port which wasn’t properly soldered to the pads
3. Two of the should buttons that were ripped off the PCB

One thing that could be a lead is the fact that when the console does power on for those few seconds only the bottom screen backlight turns on. Any ideas guys?

Does the bottom screen also briefly flash white right before the system shuts off? If so, it's most likely a problem with the top screen or its ribbon cable.
