ok, so TGA heavy mods are a bit of a pain, because you have to convert all of them to TPC, which takes forever if the files are bigger than a a few MB.

Guess we still have to decide what mods are really necessary.

So, using DrSnugglys Scripts i got TSLRCM and a few other mods working. Some mods still have problems though, when using TGA files with transparency. After converting them to TPC the texture in the game stays transparent and looks weird because you can look right through it.

Anyway its nice to use more mods than before and even TSLRCM.

It's normal, just go into "movies" and look for TSLRCM credits. If it's there, that's a good sign.
Hi, I've actually found out why the main menu is different. It seems like you forgot to convert the tga textures to tpc, so the mod textures get overridden by the original textures.

Hi I’m using yuzu on steam deck, am I able to use the TSLRCM and the buzzing sound fix mod?
This is actually my first play through of kotor 2. I’ve played kotor many times since its release and never thought the 2nd one could compare but after realizing that obsidian worked on this masterpiece as well as New Vegas I knew I had to give it a try and I’ve heard that it’s preferred to play it with that mod instead of vanilla

IF YOU ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS PLAY KOTOR 2 RESTORED CONTENT MOD AND THIS SEEMS TOO COMPLICATED:

Download and extract this to the root of your Switch's microSD card. You're done.

Thanks a lot for sharing this. A shame they abandoned the initial promise to include this with the port, but I really appreciate y'all's effort to build a working package.

Yeah I apologize I more or less abandoned KOTOR 2 switch modding mostly because the game has performance issues. I did do a full playthrough of the game and fixed bugs as I encountered them, so the bundle should work.

Interestingly, when I check the Movies menu, it appears the Opening Crawl entry was replaced by the TSLRCM Credits. But that's totally a non-issue for the tradeoff. Looking forward to playing the game this weekend. Thanks again. 👌

Hey, thanks so much for compiling all these mods together into one easy to use file! They happen to be all the exact mods I wanted (except for playing as a Twi'lek Exile, but I can always try to add that myself later). Now I just need to finish a game to free up space on my SD card.

Sorry for the double post, but I'm having issues with the game crashing and missing dialog. I only downloaded and installed the first file. Am I supposed to do all 3? I was under the impression that the first one contained all of them.

Please just read the opening post. If you don't want to do anything you can find a prepackaged archive in the OP. But it sounds like you just downloaded the framework instead.

I'm talking about the attachments to your first post:

At first I was using just the 3.4 MB one, but that was causing problems on Telos with the random crashes and missing dialog. I put the other ones on the SD card along with it, and now I got past Telos and aboard the Ebon Hawk again without any issues. I will test the other planets, but I think I fixed it.

Just set this up (prepackaged archive), no issues yet. I'm using stock update 1.0.2 as I read 1.0.3 wasn't substantive - other than bumping required fw version.

Thanks for doing what Aspyregrets.

Look man, you clearly don't know what you're doing here, so just delete everything you installed so far and just use this:

DOWNLOAD AND USE ONLY THIS

So, things got a bit screwy after departing Telos. I had a long series of end-to-end character cutscenes. With no time in between. Atton and T3 bickering, twice, Kreia killing T3 for being a thinking machine. And the Visas cutscene. So then level 12 male pc in his mining outfit gets to solo Visas with whatever pre-lightsaber weapon he had (won third try, thanks Force Whirlwind). Oh, and no handmaiden cutscene/joining. Visas joined and her influence appears to be already high enough to plow through her plot, at least two steps in. To recap: this is after leaving Telos, getting off on Dantooine, and immediately getting back on the Ebon Hawk.

I remember the vanilla game being buggy, but this seems excessive/mod-related. Quite possibly not mod-port-related, though.

EDIT: maybe adjacent to this? https://steamcommunity.com/app/208580/discussions/0/3315110799612258266/ To be clear, there is nothing here except the prepackaged archive in the OP and 1.0.2 kotor 2 on switch.

I genuinely have no idea. When I first set this up I did various playthroughs, each time I ran into a bug I started the game over from the top to be absolutely sure saves weren't causing problems in between changing mods.

My final playthrough was on the (then) latest patch and my romFS was the zip file I include in the OP. I can say I had no issues at all there. It's possible TSLRCM has bugs that aren't related to the Switch itself, but I am not going to reinstall KOTOR2 on this hardware any time soon as I felt the port was quite bad, and thus, I can't help with it.

If you want to try and individually rule out culprit mods, read the OP and maybe take a look at this: https://github.com/DrSnuggly/kotor-ii-switch-modding

I gave them my blessing to use the dialog fix I made.

Good luck!

I had a weird thought, Sega with the Saturn it was a train wreck a pile of chips, but it does kind of fit the design philosophy of Sega at the time.... The Genesis/Sega CD/32X machine was probably loads of fun to program for

I think you only get like 425gb on a series s hard drive, so you get 1, 2 next gen games max

@BigOnYa, so you need to have another series s if you wanna play more games?

Do you have a surge protector or an UPS?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea but to play the next gen games, you must have those games on internal, or buy the official ssd expansion cards, which are expensive
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, dunno what each one of those are
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, my PS3 was already modded when my dad bought it for me and my brother
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
A surge protector is a device that protects your electronics from fluctuations. I recommend having your console plugged into one of those
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
An UPS is even better because it has an internal battery that keeps your system on even if the power goes out, but it's much more expensive obviously
