Will series buttons work on xbox one elite 2?

I believe there are slight differences, but are they different enough to matter? I'm finding colors that I like and want to use on my E2, but only for series. What problems will I come across?

They don't have additional colors on Xbox laboratories? I had them build me a controller with my handle engraved on it.

I know the bumpers/triggers are slightly different, I think I read the buttons are either slightly longer or shorter. There seems to be a more limited color selection for elite vs series buttons, even in the Xbox Design Lab.
